Home made guns

This is a replica shell of a 1913 Colt M1911 handgun that was printed on a V-flash desktop modeler or 3D printer. We used it on the last Jayvlog to scare that dildo guy. It's pretty amazing that these machines are somewhat affordable and you can just print anything in 3d right off your computer. The colt gun model was downloaded from the internet and printed by our pal Rodrigo Wilde. The crazy thing is that you can download an exploded view of a handgun with all its moving parts, print each of them on this machine, cast each part, assemble the gun and presto... you can hold up a liquor store and actually fire a couple shots into the ceiling so everyone knows you're not fucking around. There are some dudes working on an affordable open source 3d printer that is capable of less detail but pretty awesome nonetheless. It's called Makerbot. They run for $750 bucks and are getting better all the time. Someday soon everyone will have 3d printers and they will be cluttering up the e-waste piles at second hand shops with all the ink jet printers swiffers and George Foreman grills.
