Will there be a keynote at the special event?
If so, is Steve gonna address that?

They should respond with an original product line.
And yes there will be people who say "apple isn't the first to come up with idea X". Nonsense. Apple takes several new ideas (some their own making, others not) and brings them together to make a new product. Apple takes a risk that their large investment will pay off and that a new product line will emerge. They do not do small production runs with these new products.
No one else made a tablet with the bells and whistles of the ipad that came together with the user experience one expects now on a tablet and produced it in such large quantities hoping a new market would emerge with great demand.
Apple could have simply said netbooks are the safe bet, lets do that. But they didn't.
Going forward, every tablet is going to be similar. That is fair enough. But when I look at the samsung devices, I feel like there is nothing really new about the user experience. It looks very similar to the ipad; more than one would expect. Creative companies would at least try to do something original.

Right, because I get high-speed internet everywhere! Because my MacBook Pro has 4G (and because 4G, itself, is ubiquitous). Because with a "MacBook Pro", I enjoy the inconvenience of having to have an external optical drive (because after all, the MacBook PRO line is all about conservation of space). Most people with the anti-superdrive arguments don't realize how very selfish and ridiculous their stances are. Luckily for them, there's an app for that, namely the MacBook Air.
I don't see why anybody would need an optical drive with them at all times. The Macbook Air is not an option for people who use CPU intensive apps daily.

Install Quicktime 7.1.3 (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/mac.html) then install iTunes 7 (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/). Connect your 3-5G iPod. Updater will appear in the new iTunes when you highligh the iPod in the left column. Eazy Peezy. :)

I bought my 1st iMAC 27" last year and I'm extremely happy with it!
I have no need for a second monitor since it's so wide.
So besides the dual external display on the 2011 what else...?
Are we missing anything else from the reported update notes???
Thunderbolt seems cool, but my iMAC is pretty fast as is. I guess I was wondering if the new update was going to make me jealous...NOT.
Maybe next refresh,,,;)

This is great for my alcoholic blackouts. Fire up the program and find out where I've been. Although on my last trip to San Diego it put me across the border and into a Tijuana cat house.

$10 !!??? It's already at $70. It won't go up much more. But good luck, and I hope it does.
I bought at $50 and it went up to $80+ in only a few months. It could happen....

Thank you, Greenpeace. Public awareness is what it's all about. If Apple does not like it, maybe it's time to shape up and actually try to live up to the "environmentally friendly" image that they have been trying to create.
Implicit in this comment is that Apple "didn't like" Greenpeace and tried to shut them down. Why the assumption that Apple was behind this? If this MacExpo is anything like the MacWorlds here in the U.S., then it's not run directly by Apple., so it would've been the decision of whoever was running MacExpo to actually kick Greenpeace out...

If you read the linked article you will see that the guard exchanged gunfire with the 2 male suspects. It's not excessive to try to save your own life...
It still must feel bad knowing you killed someone. I mean the intention was likely to wound to remove the threat rather than kill. Even if all was justified, the guard will likely need counseling or time to get over it. If he actually enjoyed it then he's in the wrong line of work.

then why did apple cripple the 13" macbook pro's with ****** resolution then?
Because they didn't redesign the MBP. It is the same 13" unibody MBP they have had since the first 13" unibody MBP. Because of that, everything is exactly the same as it was. It has nothing to do with the capabilities of the video chipset. Seriously the 13" MBP can run a 27" ACD.

I really wish the media device rumor is true, but i would highly doubt that Apple would bring out the successor to the iPod this early. May be it is a pilot program like the Rockr phone for music on cell phones that Apple wants to experiment with by throwing a media streaming device in the market!
Also, i really wish the movies are priced at $4.99 rather than $9.99!
No, no, no! The iPod is for mobile entertainment. The media device is for the living room. Nothing mutually exclusive about these at all.

This product cannot come soon enough.
Every single phone on the market stinks.
My wife buster her phone today, and called me for a recommendation. All she wants as a Mom is a phone with a long battery life and great reception.
She left the Cingular store with a crappy phone with a million features she will never use.

why is it that the media constantly confuse PHONES with OPERATING SYSTEMS. the headline screams "Windows phone to top iPhone".....
THEN the chart shows they are comparing OPERATING SYSTEMS. It's important to remember that Apple's phenomenal market share is accomplished on ONE handset (yes it gets updated every year, but there's only ONE iPhone) compared to dozens and dozens that run Android and (maybe someday) Windows Phone 7.
I still doubt it, but regardless, no SINGLE PHONE will come anywhere near the iPhone.

I actually agree. Pull 'em. It may be censorship, but it's dangerous not to.
Freedom has a lot of risk involved. This does nothing more than negates the illegal check points. I don't care what the argument is. This is nothing more than an internal checkpoint that is illegal. If you are old enough to remember the 80's then you will probably recall how the eastern block communists countries were portrayed on TV. And we the good guys would never do things that they were doing "over there"! But alas there is no soviet union so I guess that makes it ok to do it now.
Just remember this safety while a concern can turn in to a prison that no one can get out of. Because the safest position is to have no choice. And without choice you are a slave. So enjoy your servitude.

The TV makes a terrible monitor for any other computer use, and I just don't want the computer in my TV room.
A current LCD or Plasma television with DVI or HDMI inputs can make an excellent computer monitor.
For example, the Samsung 46" and 40" LCDs are 1920x1080, with VGA and HDMI input. They are excellent monitors (we use them in some small conference rooms in lieu of projectors).
