I think that's pretty accurate (well observed) whichever side of this particular fence people are sitting.
Yeah, but what is currently out there that's better?

Looking at the figures right now anyone can easily see that iOS is not the dominating platform. Not even the second most popular (which is Symbian), but does anyone really care ? Same case with the Macs and Mac OS X.
I would really like to see Microsoft step up the game because in the end, we customers are the ones receiving most benefit.
I had been a loyal Windows user (up to Windows 7) when I switched to Mac last year. My take is that Windows and its creators are not technically inferior to Mac OS and Apple, but their corporate philosophy has never sported the acumen and, guess what, common sense with which Steve Jobs creates such reliable, handsome products.

Yes, that is the Apple mentality. No more is it about making the best machine, but about making it "good enough". That speech in 2008 with the intro of the Unibody MacBook with the then nVidia 9400m where Apple realises "graphics are important and boy did we pack this thing with graphics power!" is gone.
You're right. I should just eat my pill and accept the lesser GPU.
The only thing holding me back from a Mac before 2008 was the Intel GPU. The only thing that will hold me back from purchasing a new one after this is Air is... Intel graphics.
But you just know that it will sell in record numbers regardless. Even if it was an empty shell, people will buy them. That's the beauty of Apple marketing.

So where do I buy a TB cable to hook-up my MBP to the new iMac so can transfer files, use the iMac as a second screen, and hook up my drobo to the iMac for storage? Or are all the peripheral and cables coming in summer?

A camera isnt only about MP. The weakest link of the camera in phones is the optics. You just cant get good pics from a camera phone due to the limited formfactor, even if you had 3200 MP.
So yes, in a foreseeable furture, the cameras in phones are crap.
There are software solutions that promise a different future than what you envision. DXO Optics made an announcement recently about using software to drastically correct cell phone camera pictures. Shouldn't be long...

LOL even the clock icon look the same, that's just cheap copying.
10:10 has been the primary way to show time on a static clock and watches for decades. The 10:10 position of the hands is used to highlight the logo which is usually located below the "12".
I wonder where Apple got the idea from?

To those clamoring for a matte option I feel your pain but our time is long gone. I bought a Mac Pro just so I could use matte screen because my underdeveloped eyes couldn't get used to "looking past reflections" on the new iMac (which I sold in less than a year)

It just occurred to me, that in Leopard iChat has a thing called Remote Desktop Express. This could easily be used in the new device to send Front Row to the TV!
Apple, I'm sure is thinking ahead. Or they plan on releasing the new iChat on the 12th.

Disclaimer: Apple fanboy here. But agree with Microsoft.
App Store is simply the description of the actual thing: An app store. It's just too simple.
Windows on the other hand is a name that wouldn't be used to describe an operating system. Windows, much like Pages, Keynote and Numbers, is a noun used creatively to create a trademark. App Store is a close second but, IMO, fails due to being the actual description of the object.
If Microsoft had called Windows simply "Operating System" and copyrighted that, THEN it'd be the same thing :P
But they are not calling it 'Application Store'
They are calling it 'App Store' ;)

Doesn't really matter out here in Sacramento. Law enforcement posts the date and location in the local paper anyway.

from what ive read the difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo isnt much
its not like P4 and Core 2 Duo
the Core 2 Duo are -10-15% faster at the same clock speed but use more power
They're also 64-bit and if Apple uses the Conroe the FSB is a lot faster.

Too bad they didn't keep the 60gig and set its price at $300 and upgrade it also. They could have made a real killing there.

Free speech was killed decades ago by every business along with every govts help. Green Peace agreed though to keep it in the booth, they didnt so they are to blame. This is a Mac expo not a tree huggers convention.

[INDENT]"Santa Rosa is currently developed by Intel as successor of the current "Napa" platform. Napa will receive a 64-bit refresh in September of this year ("Napa64") to support the launch of the Merom processor. Napa64 will be replaced by Santa Rosa in the first or second quarter of 2007.
Wanna bet that Napa64 is 100% identical to ordinary Napa, apart from the fact that the CPU is Merom, instead of Yonah? Since Napa is a platform, just chaning the CPU to something else would mean that the platform has been refreshed.

OH whatever Apple is great. Apple is god. Apple can do no wrong. It was that way for a while, and they will always be better then Windows, god knows I hate windows. Now, they are slipping.

The Nexus S looks different to the Galaxy S in software and physical looks but is included in the suit. As that is a Google experience device I do wonder why Apple don't target Google directly.
Google probably have a kickass patent portfolio so they'll just countersue.
