I had a freak accident when I was 15 that ended up in some permanent internal damage to my right ankle, shin and top of the foot. It made me prone to sprains and bone dislocation, so I for years I always had an elastic bandage or two around the house and found myself using them regularly. Fun and glamorous, for sure. These VPL Torniquet Heel sandals ($565 at Barneys) remind me of the days compression wraps were part of my wardrobe. I'll pass.
