Fabulous Recipe Pick....Ground Turkey and Rice...


Ladies we all have those days where we get tired of eating the same thing and want something different. Last night I made this excellent recipe that both hubby and I enjoyed. Check out the yummy and quick recipe below.

Ground Turkey and Rice Recipe

2 cups Yellow Rice (from scratch or box)
1 pd. Ground Turkey
1/2 Cup of Green and Red Peppers (chopped)
1 tablespoon of Olive, Canola or Vegetable Oil
1 tablespoon Garlic
Salt Pepper and Oregano to taste


In a medium pan coat pan with one tablespoon of oil.  Let oil heat up for a few seconds and add ground turkey.  Make sure to grind turkey while cooking into small pieces as you will be adding it to the rice. Add garlic, green peppers, red peppers, salt, pepper and oregano.  Cook until meat is brown but don't drain juices. 

While meat is cooking prepare rice and let it come to a boil. As water starts to evaporate place the meat mixture into the pot with the rice and stir.  Let sit (stirring occasionally) until rice is completely done and then serve.  Recipe is great alone or you can drizzle spaghetti sauce and cheese on top to give it an extra taste.  Serve with a side of cornbread and your choice of vegetable.

This recipe is excellent as you will have leftovers for at least 1-2 days which is great when you already have a hectic schedule.
