Superbowl Sunday is near and like everyone I love to chow down but that doesn't mean I want to pack on an extra 10 pounds while doing so. Below is a yummy chili cheese recipe that will satisfy your cravings and not pack on the pounds. I got rave reviews from hubby and friends so I hope you ladies enjoy.
Chili Cheese Dip
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pd. Lean Ground Turkey
1 8oz can of Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup Fresh Tomato Sliced
1 16oz can of Dark Red Kidney Beans (Low Sodium)
1 cup Cheddar Cheese
1/2 cup water
2-3 tablespoon Chili Powder (measurement can vary depending on how strong you want the chili flavor)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Season Salt
1 teaspoon Red Pepper
Directions:
In a pan on medium heat add olive oil. Let the olive oil heat up for a couple of seconds then place ground turkey in the pan, proceed to season ground turkey with season salt. Once turkey ground has browned drain juices and place back on medium fire, add in sliced tomato, tomato sauce, dark red kidney beans, water, chili powder and red pepper. Stir mixture and proceed to let mixture come to a boil. Once mixture has come to a boil turn heat down to low and add cheese on top. Let chili simmer for 5-10 minutes.
For the cheese maniacs you may sprinkle more cheese on top of chili right before serving. Serve with plain Tostito Chips or Baked Lays.
