Black Leather On The Red Carpet
Black leather is more than motorcycle jackets. It looks especially interesting when combined with soft feminine fabrics and formed into a dress. These are some upscale versions that emerged this week on the red carpet.
Leighton Meester in a Michael Kors jersey dress with a leather cut out bodice at the premier of her movie The Roomate. I also love her makeup- it's a much more subtle and flattering way to use silver around the eyes than what we often see on the likes of Kim Kardashian and J. Lo.
Then there's Kate Bosworth at Sundance film festival wearing Chloe. I'm a little less convinced by her dress- maybe it's the neckline that looks uncomfortable. Still, she's interesting and her makeup is flawless.
A more classic approach was seen on Korean model/actress Im Soo Jung who wore Valentino to a Seoul press conference for her movie Come Rain Come Shine. She makes black leather and lace appear a lot more innocent than one would imagine.
I'm wondering how this can be translated into an everyday look. Maybe with a simple black cashmere wrap over a leather top. Any other suggestions?
