With his new book "Decoded," hitting shelves JayZ has admitted (to British Newspaper The Guardian) for the first time how he shot his brother when he was 12 years old. He shot his brother Eric (who back then was a crack addict) in the shoulder over stealing a ring. The shot was non-fatal and his brother refused to press charges against him, instead his brother apologized to him for his drug problem. Check out Jay's quotes below.
"I thought my life was over. I thought I'd go to jail forever."
"It was terrible," he says now. "I was a boy, a child. I was terrified."
"There were shoot-outs, but I never shot anyone else. Most people in shoot-outs don't get shot."

Seems that this was a wake up call for Jay and his brother.
