Breast Cancer is the second deadliest cancer among women in the U.S according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Breast self exams are very important as they can detect the early stages of breast cancer.
A self exam should be conducted on a monthly basis at least a week after your menstrual cycle. At this time you will examine your breast visually and physically to see if you feel any changes or if there are any lumps, pain or discharge present. If you feel that something unusual has occurred you will want to take this time to see your doctor as they will examine you once again and if anything is out of the ordinary they will treat you as needed. As women we must love our bodies and take care of them. Make sure you conduct a self exam on a monthly basis as it is better to be safe then sorry.
Stay Fab!
