Apple announced the Intel iMac and MBP like 5-7 days after Yonah was brought out at the begining of Jan. It'll be announced tomorrow (75%) or next Tuesday (25%), but no later than that.

I could care less about the streaming aspect of it. What I do want is a way to re-download purchases I made on iTunes in the event a song or something is accidentally deleted.

saw a post on ilounge earlier.... that said this guy went to his local apple store, and they said to wait until next week (the 5th) because imacs and mac minis would have core 2 duos.

I bought a XDA II PDA phone TWO or Three years ago already have WiFI.
I should have said anything with Windows that's a phone. But that's my point: basically, the only types of phones that have Wifi in them are some "mobile" windows devices.

I don't know. I think the latest MBP was rushed to market a bit. I think Apple just wanted to get to intel and really ddn't think about design.
The current PB look has been around since 2001. I think the alumin look is starting to look soooo 2000. Were heading toward time to move on with a new chip and a new look.
Personally I prefer plastic to metal. Metal shows way too many scratches, finger prints, smudges, etc. The smooth shiny plastic look is much better and it is more durable. The metal enclosures dent, bend and break. They also transmit the heat faster to your lap and interfere with BT and Airport. The plastic enclosures give and spring back like new.
Gun Metal ABS plastic with rounded smooth corners, new keyboard, quick access ram, HD, and battery, magnetic latch, sound like the future to me.:D

Steve Jobs knew this was a BS patent and it shows in his comments. Absolutely Stupid. Hell, the LISA had a Hierarchal File System. I'm still angry that this patent was even granted in the first place.
Bottom line: Creative knew this was a BS patent, too, but they figured they had to try. However, when the patent was granted to them, they had a weapon in their war against the iPod. Rather than concentrate on making a better product, they used this weapon as a way to get some quick cash. They bet on Apple settling and not going to court.
In the meantime, MS comes in and announces Zune, which threatens other WMA compatible players like Creative's offerings. Creative now thinks they need a backup plan and decides that during the negotiations with Apple, they can get them to give them a license to produce iPod-approved products. Now they have a fallback incase their own offerings fizzle out.
The question is: Will they go after Microsoft, too? It would be hypocritical not to, after all.

Watching on the tv is exactly what this is about. The whole point is that you don't need to have a *computer* or even a *hard drive* next to the TV since you can just stream the video from a computer ANYWHERE in your house.

No next gen DVD in the 23" yet, I guess.
Next gen DVD is still in the air and still too expensive, would raise the price by at least 700 (likely more). Not sure most people are ready to shell that much yet.

Awww... Not this again. Windows doesn't blue screen without reason. If it did BSOD left and right, I would think that any of the three desktops at work should have gotten one in the 30,000 hours they've clocked now... I don't think I've ever seen a BSOD not being caused by bad or incorrectly configured hardware, overclocking or possibly bad drivers. As a matter of fact, the only BSODs I've had since 2002 (when I switched to XP) have been related to overclocked hardware. People need to check their damn hardware before going all ballistic over Microsoft's supposedly unstable operating system.
I always test the CPU/memory/mobo using Prime95 and Memtest86 right after I build a computer. I've caught some bad memory this way. Moreover, it has enabled me to stay BSOD-less on every machine I've built so far (that's ~15 machines in the past 5 years).
Mainly I used to leave my tower on 24/7 and the worst I would get is switching my monitor on first thing in the morning or when I got home from work and see it had rebooted itself and was telling me it was an invalid system disc.
That's almost 100% a hardware malfunction that causes Windows to restart after a serious failure. The default setting in Windows is to restart when it encounters a serious system failure and this can be disabled in the control panel to aid in seeking out the failing hardware. But I guess this is too late to fix now, since it sounds as if you sold the machine.

Creative does not have 100 mil to blow on lawyers. Either way you look at it, apple legal cost would not have approached 100 mil.
Even though the SCO case is not a patent dispute, it's a good example of how a company with pending legal disputes with potentially big outcomes can always find sources to finance their lawsuits.

Whether the iPhone, if/on release, is in two models (similar to the nano/video relationship) or not, here's a mockup I've just created, depicting what I would expect of the device at the moment.
I don't usually do mock-ups (this is in fact my first one) but with all the numpad/touchscreen/slide-down ideas in the works, I wanted to show a solution which is based very much on what we have right now. It would make sense that the devices would sit snugly in line with Apple's other mobile products.

never seen a new windows phone LOL, most people who are happy with iPhones etc, will stick with them and won't bother going for anything else.

Believe it or not, the fact that intel is releasing new chips does not mean that the other companies have given up or that intel has "won." IBM's desktop and server chips have been and will continue to be very competitive. Apple switched because PPC was not cutting it for laptops.

The Turion X2 is a flop(that's also 6 months late) It's so bad for AMD that they are practically having a fire sale on X2/A64's come the 24th. Let's not even go there with IBM they are too busy making toy CPU's for M$ , and talk about the nightmare IBM/Sony are having with the Cell yields(what are they like 20-30%).lol:D

So, I'll likely have to wait for the next incarnation of the iMac. Definitely, soon, I will get another iMac. The iMac and iPad are the perfect combination for my needs.
