Fabulous Mom Tip: Healthy Food to Eat While Breastfeeding!



When breastfeeding your baby you want to make sure you eat the right nutrition because whatever you put into your body will go into your baby's body during breastfeeding. Below are some food suggestions to help you maintain a healthy diet while breastfeeding.


1. Salmon- Salmon is loaded with a fat called DHA which makes this one of the best breastfeeding foods.  The DHA that you find in salmon is actually very important for your baby's nervous system development.  Even though DHA is already present in a woman's breast milk the levels are higher in women who have DHA in their diet.

2. Low Fat Dairy Products-  This is another important factor in breastfeeding as it has been said for years and years that dairy products are a great source of calcium containing protein, B vitamins and vitamin D.  These particular vitamins are essential to the development of your baby's bones.

3. Legumes/Beans-  Beans are a great source of iron for your baby and is a great alternative for those that don't eat beef.

4. Eggs- Within egg yolk is a natural source of vitamin D which is essential for your baby's bone growth and to keep your bones strong.

5. Whole Wheat Bread- This has an important substance know as folic acid which is very important for the good health of your baby.

6. Leafy Greens- These vegetables contain vitamin A, calcium, vitamin C and iron which are all important components for your baby's health.

Ladies make sure to eat healthy during preganancy and breastfeeding is it's good for the health of you and your baby and it will keep your energy up.
