On December 18th the DJ stated on 'The Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg Show' that he was HIV negative because he stood away from Haitian women. Although the DJ stated this was a joke and he meant no harm and even went as far to apologize to the public, many people, groups and activists asked that the DJ be fired. Many protested outside of the Hot 97 headquarters but Hot 97 made no comments in regards to the comment that was made.
On December 22nd it was announced that DJ Cipha was suspended indefinitely.
I hope Cipha learns from this as it may have been a joke to him but it was a very ignorant comment and very offensive to others.
